Willard George Brink Jr.
February 3, 1950 – March 5, 2026
George Brink, 76, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, at his home in Bellflower, California.
Born on February 3, 1950, in Downey, California, to Adriana and Willard George Brink Sr., George was welcomed into the family by his sisters, Marilyn and Beverly. Eight years later, his brother Douglas completed the family.
George graduated from Valley Christian High School in 1968, where he loved playing football and running track. He later attended Cerritos College. In 1972, he met the love of his life, Judy. After a short courtship, they were married on August 31, 1973. Together they were blessed with two children, Lori and Michael. In 2000, Lori married Dennis Vanden Berg, and in 2008, Michael married Amy Griffin. George took great pride in being “Papa” to his grandchildren—Allison, Rory, and Audrey—cherishing the special time he spent with each of them.
George began his career with Alpha Beta working in the truck lot, but he was soon promoted to manage the meat warehouse. When it was discovered that he had been doing real estate on the side for family and friends, he was moved into the company’s real estate department. He was later recruited by Staples, where he was responsible for acquiring new locations this side of the Mississippi River. He enjoyed his years there and retired in 1997.
George loved his church and his church family. He enjoyed hosting friends and family in his home and was always willing to help someone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Beverly; his niece, Jenniffer; and his nephew, Douglas. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; his children, Dennis and Lori Vanden Berg, and Michael and Amy Brink; his grandchildren, Allison, Rory, and Audrey; his mother-in-law, Annie; his sister, Marilyn; his brother, Doug; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 20th at 10:30am at First Christian Reformed Church. In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made to Artesia Christian Home or First Christian Reformed Church of Bellflower.
