Jackie Diane Brazel

 Jackie Diane (Blum) Brazel was born November 23, 1953 in Los Angeles, California at County General Hospital. She was adopted November 24, 1953 by Emil and Elsie Blum. Jackie, her parents, and her older brother, Jeff lived in La Habra. In the early 60s they moved to their East Whittier home. February 7, 1981, Jackie married Philip Brazel in Las Vegas, Nevada. Phil was a tow truck driver for Hadley Tow of Whittier. May 4, 1982, Jackie's only child, William Howard Brazel was born. July 8, 1987, Jackie's husband Phil passed away in Whittier, he was only 34. Jackie and William moved into Jackie's childhood home with her parents, where they stayed until her mom, Elsie's passing in 2008, age 86. Jackie's dad, Emil had passed in 2002, age 83. In 2008, Jackie did purchase her own home in the South Whittier area. Jackie was an avid dancer. She took up belly dancing and even preformed at many venues with the Fatimas Belly Dance Troupe. They did do many forms of dance besides belly dancing. Jackie had many jobs in her life, from a switchboard operator at a message center, to being a switchboard operator at Cerritos College. In between that time she worked at many doctor's offices as a medical assistant. Later in life she worked in a home health care capacity. Jackie did do some volunteer work as a 4H leader. It was the 4H horseless horse project, she was well suited for this project as she had an extensive background with horses. She was also a Deacon for many years for her church. Jackie's older brother, Jeffrey Blum died March 1, 2010 after succumbing to a brain injury he sustained several years before. He was 59 years old. Some of Jackie's biggest loves in her life were horses, cats, traveling to Morro Bay and Tehachapi, and her biggest love was her son William. Sadly, William passed November 1, 2014. He was only 32 years old. After a short illness, sadly Jackie passed away February 26, 2025 at Presbyterian Hospital in Whittier. She was 71 years old. She left no surviving relatives, only dear friends that miss her very much.
